History and things to know
According to the guide of the Kagoshima Prefecture Jinjachō, the date of its founding is unknown, but it is said to have been founded by welcoming kami from 大洗磯神社 in Hitachi and Ōyamatsumi Jinja in Iyo. In Kansei 2, Shimazu Narinobu, moved by the unusual rocks on the shore on his way to worship, had the characters "驪龍巖" carved, and the stone still remains today.
