History and things to know
According to the temple's engi, in Genroku 3 (1690) Takakiyo, the 17th head of the Ōtawara clan, built a Zen temple at this place and invited 材庵電染, who had been the chief priest of Kōshin-ji, as its founding priest. The mountain name was formed by taking two characters from Takakiyo's Buddhist name. The present main hall was completed in Heisei 17.
