What the myths hand down

At the descent of the heavenly grandson, Ishikoridome accompanies Ninigi no Mikoto together with Ame no Koyane no Mikoto, Futotama no Mikoto, Ame no Uzume no Mikoto and Tamanooya no Mikoto. It is a story that hands down the beginnings of the skills that support rites and of the people who carry them.

Links between the sources and faith

In contrast to Ishikoridome no Mikoto (伊斯許理度売命) in the Kojiki, the Nihon Shoki has forms such as Ishikoridome (石凝姥). Because the lineage of ancestral kami connected with mirror making differs among sources, we do not fix it to a single tradition.
