History and things to know
According to the guide of the Kanagawa Prefecture Association of Shinto Shrines, it is said that because the former Kugo was an estate of the Fujiwara clan, a divided spirit of Kasuga Taisha was invited, and in old times the shrine stood on Sarushima. Because Sarushima became military land, the shrine was moved to its present site in Meiji 17, and the shrine building, which collapsed in the Great Kantō Earthquake, was rebuilt in Shōwa 11.
